Once you become immersed in a new country to get to know it which means you experience new things, which is excellent.
My first job in teaching was in Bangkok and I took took took to get to the school. It was the quickest way to get through the traffic. You will discover more with your TEFL Course because I did. The journey to work was life in motion as I passed the street vendors and the colours of the markets I drove past. Bangkok is a colourful, fast moving and vibrant city, breathing life 24 hours a day. It was an incredible and unforgettable experience. My last lesson was a karaoke style lesson singing the Beatles with the 60 students I taught.
3 hours away from Bangkok is the beautiful Koh Samet. The minivan cost me 250 Baht and the ferry to the island was 150 Baht. I could leave Bangkok on Friday afternoon and be in Samet for 8pm. TEFL gave me the opportunity to travel and see new places.
I used to stay in bungalow on the beach for 500 Baht. It was clean and basic but when I opened the door in the morning I was on the beach. Depending on where you stay in Koh Samet, and other islands in Thailand, you can still find really quiet beaches.
Food is also great value in Thailand and you can definitely eat fantastic Thai food for less than 500 Baht per day.
In summary you can discover more with a TEFL Course because you can teach during the week and travel at the weekends. It’s also affordable to do this. Enjoy TEFL and stay longer.
